There was a time that my life was so dark, I didn’t see a future. I had not a single thread of hope.

You know that verse in Revelation,

They conquered him completely

through the blood of the Lamb

and the powerful word of his testimony.

They triumphed because they did not love and cling

to their own lives, even when faced with death. (Rev 12:11 tpt)

Well, Jesus destroyed the work of the enemy in my life and I’m about to tell the whole world!

My story is full of darkness, pain, abuse and incredible trauma, but that’s not my testimony. My testimony is how Jesus made my life beautiful.

This book is not a get better fast book. It’s not all about me and what had happened to me. I want to use the pages of this book to talk to you... about your pain. I get it. It hurts. There are days that you feel a little alive but that’s too scary. You go back into hiding because it’s dangerous out there, with people. After all that you have been through, I don’t blame you.

I want to use this space to ask you to trust me, to trust Jesus, to be courageous and take a little risk. We won’t hurt you. We’ll tell you the truth because truth is the beginning. Sometimes it hurts to hear that truth but you’ll get over it, I promise.

I want to ask you to hang in there with me. There are some tough places in the first and second chapter that may trigger you. I won’t share any disgusting details but the trauma that I overcame, the trauma of childhood sexual abuse. To honor, I will not share who my abuser was. I want to honor as best as I can. I was 15 when it finally stopped. My life became worse because of who I told and I wasn’t believed. I thought things were bad before I told - they became worse.

I wonder how many people out there, like you, feel so alone and so misunderstood. I’m sorry. I wish I could sit with you and “just be”, while you share the deepest pain of your precious heart. You are not alone. Not really. I can’t believe how many people have endured what you and I have endured. How horrible! To think...how many of these cases are happening now, in the church. It’s too bad and makes me angry.

In this book, I will talk about triggers. I have asked my husband to join in. He has his BA in psychology and lots of experience because he has walked with me for many years through the aftermath of

abuse and violence.

Stay with me. I’m praying for you. Though you feel alone, you’re not. Though you may not know and feel it, Jesus is rooting for you because He is crazy about. And together, we’re going to help you find the way out.

This book helps not only victims of abuse and childhood trauma find life, healing, hope and freedom, but also helps those who courageously come alongside those who are in their healing journey.
